Feed My Sheep August Statutory Holiday

Monday August 5 the Feed My Sheep crew will be preparing a hot lunch for our Cornwall clients at the Agape Centre. The volunteers we have are the most efficient and dedicated bunch of lovely folks. The food prep ladies arrive with the tools to chops according to what is needed for the day. Neil and Tom are a great pair working on the protein of the meal, this week it is going to be ground beef. The rest of us fill in with the various duties needed to get things ready on time. It is typically a busy  but fun morning.

Pride Parade Crafting

We thank everyone who attended our Pride Parade Craft Day at Knox-St. Paul’s United Church. It was a fun morning of creativity, and we look forward to debuting these signs (as well as our signs from previous parades) on Saturday! Join us for the Diversity/Diversité Cornwall Parade, everyone is welcome to walk with us! We are gathering at the Aquatic Centre at 10 AM! See you there!

Pride Sunday Service

Knox-St. Paul’s United Church held its Pride Service this Sunday in partnership with Diversity/Diversité Cornwall celebrating the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Pride Week is in full swing, and we are excited to be taking part again this year. We have our Pride Crafting session on Friday (which you are invited to join!) and the Pride Festival March on Saturday! Thank you to those from Diversity Cornwall for joining us today, and we look forward to joining you on Saturday!

Kids Community Kitchen

Each weekday between 7:30 – 9:00 AM, the Agape Community Kitchen will open its doors for school-aged children to drop in for a nutritious breakfast and a lunch to take home. This initiative will continue to run during the summer months. We are supporting the Agape Community Kitchen by collecting specific non-perishable items for their program.

We are collecting:

  • Individual boxes of cereal
  • Juice Boxes
  • Granola Bars
  • Fruit Cups
  • Peanut Butter/Jams/Spreads
  • Non-Perishable lunch items

Our next ‘Collection Sunday’ will be on Sunday, August 6th. Be sure to bring in your items before then to help support kids in our community. You can drop off donations during office hours or on Sunday mornings. For more information, please contact the office!

Feed My Sheep – July 3, 2023

On Monday, July 3, 2023, Knox-St. Paul’s supported the Agape Centre by hosting lunch for those in need.

Knox-St. Paul’s runs a program called “Feed my Sheep” which helps run the Agape Centre kitchen on statutory holidays when the facility is normally closed. This month, we kept the kitchen open for the Canada Day statutory holiday held on the Monday.

With thanks to those who help keep the Feed my Sheep program supported throughout the year, we are honoured to support the work of the Agape Centre in the community. If you would like to support the Feed my Sheep program, please visit our Donations page and indicate on your donation that you would like to direct your funds to the Feed my Sheep program.

Underwearness for Human Trafficking

Did you know? Victims Services in Cornwall/SDG is working with survivors of human trafficking.

They are in need of (NEW!) underwear for all genders, with the greatest need for women’s underwear, sizes small to large.

For the month of April, Knox-St. Paul’s United Church will be collecting underwear to support Victims Services and human trafficking survivors.

Stay tuned for more information regarding a learning event about human trafficking.

Feed My Sheep – April 7, 2023

April 7 is Good Friday and fish chowder is on the menu at the soup kitchen! Coleslaw, buns, and dessert will round out the lunch meal for the clients. There will be potatoes and onions to peel and chop, dessert to prepare. The volunteers will be busy but having a good chat while the work gets done by 11:30. With gratitude to our congregation who support Feed My Sheep ensuring that on one journeys alone at Easter time.
