The Agapè Centre runs a food bank that provides free groceries to people in need or in crisis. They provide food for over 1600 people each month, with 40% of those being children. We believe in taking a proactive approach in supporting our community, and thus we have shifted our support for the Agapè Centre to focus on their Kids Community Kitchen.
Each weekday between 7:30 – 9:00 AM, the community kitchen opens for school-aged children to drop in for a nutritious breakfast. Children are given the food they need to ensure they have a productive and healthy school day. To that end, Knox-St. Paul’s hosts a collection Sunday once a month where we collect items to donate to the Kids Community Kitchen.
If you would like help us support this initiative, we are always seeking items to donate to this project. Non-Perishable items like individual boxes of cereal, juice boxes, granola bars, fruit cups, peanut butter, jams, spreads, and other lunch items. You can bring your items in during office hours or on Sunday morning.
